Discovering Engadina. An Alpine wonder to be preserved.

The event, organized by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Milan together with La Pelle in Engadina, is held within the House of Switzerland and is dedicated to the current and relevant topic of sustainability in Switzerland.

The meeting will include a discussion of about 50 min. with short interventions of guests who will tell from a historical, landscape, alpine and artistic point of view, anecdotes about the Engadine.

At the end of the event there will be a photo exhibition dedicated to the Engadine landscapes. An aperitif will be offered.

Moderator:

Martino Liva, lawyer, Milanese, has been frequenting the Engadine since birth. Curator with Merisio of the book “Le mie Gite in Engadina”, by his father Marco Liva (who died in a mountain accident in Engadina in 2017), he is among the promoters of the group La Pelle in Engadina. In 2021 he organized with Matteo Lampertico a talk dedicated to Segantini, hosted in the evocative setting of the Maloja Palace.

Panelists:

Luca Merisio, writer, photographer, publisher (founder of the publishing house Lyasis). He lives in Bergamo and is the author of many books on the Engadine, which he has always frequented. He is the editor, together with Martino Liva, of the book “Le mie Gite in Engadina”, by Marco Liva, a book that publishes the Engadine diary of Marco Liva, with more than 100 itineraries from easy to difficult.

Laura Ceretti, photographer and writer. She works between Milan and Switzerland, she is passionate about history and mountain culture, she is a collector of old postcards of the Engadine and by selecting the rarest and most curious ones, she has created a book and a film.

Jean Blanchaert, curator and art critic, art expert, frequenter of the Engadine, great admirer of Segantini and Giacometti.

Diana Segantini, great-granddaughter of the artist Giovanni Segantini, founded Segantini Unlimited to promote and preserve her family’s legacy.
